Felt

Christmas is slowly creeping round the corner, and wether I like it or not I have to start to prepare for it sooner rather than later.
I was browsing Instagram and noticed that some of the people I follow have already started making garlands and Baubles for their Etsy sites. These are from Stories for Autumn and cost £15 for 3. I love them but I started thinking can I make them myself?

So i checked out pinterest and there was alot of tutorials and other inspiration (see below).
I will post my first adventures with felt this week.
You can pick up felt squares from John Lewis, Amazon and your local arts and craft store.

I really do love these hair clips, they are great gifts for little girls!!

Banners

I keep seeing these banners everywhere. From Instagram to blogs. They are defiantly something that makes me stop and look. I thought that they might be something you could make. It also made me think of ways to hang up art you already have.
The Banners below are from The Secret Holiday Co and Ferm Living. To make your own banner the wooden hanger below is also from Ferm Living. There are also lots of others on Etsy.

Frame It. Or not.

I was wondering through a local shop in Stoke Newington and I came across these lovely frames. At first I thought they were vintage. My mind was saying you had better get them you wont find anything like them again. Then after some investigation I discovered they aren't vintage they are infact new.
They are by a company called Nkuku, they make environmentally aware products using recycled material through sustainable methods. They employ artisan craftsman from all over the world. They promote decent wages for workers, safe working conditions and no exploitation of children. The result is a product that looks vintage, is made well and isn't harming the environment. Do have a look at their website they do sell so much more.
